Greeenpeople, the socio environmental organisation based in Muvattupuzha protests against the attack on environmental activists in Pappinissery, Kannur. We believe that the atrocity was committed by the Politicians-real estate-Mafia nexus. As a result of effective interference of the environmental activists, they are not able to encroach upon forests and other natural resources as easily as it used to be; this might be the reason for them targeting environmental activists. The project that is to be inaugurated tomorrow at Pappinissery is a misconceived real-estate project masquerading as a tourism venture. We demand strong action against the miscreants there.
