The state and Central governments , especially the forest departments in the dock as major dailies take up the issue of deformities in the announced Tiger census and the influence of the real estate -land mafia lobby's influence in the process. The issue came to limelight after Greenpeople, A socio-environmental organisation based in Kerala raised the issue. the news was reported in Metrovaartha daily on 7th March 2010 and again the news re-appeared in Kerala Kaumudi daily as the lead story on 8th march. It is shameful that kerala Kaumudi decided not to mention about greenpeople, the very organisation that gave them the news and they reproduced the organisations news word by word that appeared in the Metrovaartha the day before.
