Expert Panel indict Coca-Cola; Plachimada updates...

In a development that could turn out to be a milestone in the battle for water in Kerala and else where, the nine-member expert committee constituted by government of Kerala has indicted the Coca-cola company in Plachimada for the enormous damage it caused to the environment in the village and recommended the government to extract a compensation upto 200 croes of rupees from the soft-drink behemoth. The decision of the committee is seen as calming gesture for the the local populace who had to suffer due to the extreme environmental disaster that was caused when the company drug out about 1400000 liters of water a day for its functioning.
