'SlumDogs' at their stinking Tombs...!
Poor men are buried in the stinking heap of waste and we call it 'God's Own country'......
The picture shown here is not a waste disposal yard but are of a public cemetery in Piravom, a small town in Ernakulam district of Kerala. The place has been the final resting place for hundreds of landless poor in the 6 near by panchayaths for the last few decades. Today it is turned into a waste-dumbing-yard by the authorities and the rich.The burial ground stinking of all kind of nasty waste is a blot on the face of modern Kerala society. Hundreds of tombs of poor men are now under the refuse.
In a time when the state is going after smart and Smarter cities adn developmental projects the basic human rights of common people are ignored or denied with impunity. The poor people who have no land of their own and most of whom are hapless Dalits are in misery. The politics and economic mantras of the Neo-liberal era has already robbed them off their right to a dignified life and now they are even denied their right to a dignified death and funeral thereafter. This Issue should be an eye opener to all of us who boast of how civilised we are.... 
What should we do now?is it enough for us simply to blame the government and sit idle? Pass on this news to as many people as you can and fight for the helpless....
