Adieu the Giants 
The Kerala Government at last showed the nerve to ban the production, sale and distribution of Coke and Pepsi in the state. With the ascend of the left to power in the last assembly election it was expected eventually with the anti cola crusader VS Achudananthan at the helm. The Centre for Science And environment (CSE) 
reporting high pesticide content in soft drinks , for the second time in three years was the immediate cause of the decision. Following the Government decision the Plachimada Ikyadartya Samiti has declared an end to the 1588 days struggle of the people of Plachimada against the soft drink giants, Coke.
